Barangay Bitas

Barangay Bitas is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Tigbauan, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bitas had a population of 2,053. This made it the 11th largest of 52 barangays in Tigbauan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bitas accounted for approximately 3.15% of the total population of Tigbauan, which stood at 65,245 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bitas moving from 1,850 residents to 2,053 residents, an intercensal change of +11.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Bitas is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
