Barangay Dorong-an

Situated in Tigbauan, Iloilo, Barangay Dorong-an is one of 52 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Dorong-an had a population of 2,767. This made it the 5th largest of 52 barangays in Tigbauan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dorong-an accounted for approximately 4.24% of the total population of Tigbauan, which stood at 65,245 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Dorong-an changed from 2,525 to 2,767, a shift of +9.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Tigbauan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dorong-an as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tigbauan is a municipality comprising 52 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dorong-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
