Barangay San Rafael

Situated in Tigbauan, Iloilo, Barangay San Rafael is one of 52 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Rafael had a population of 432. This made it the 46th largest of 52 barangays in Tigbauan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Rafael accounted for approximately 0.66% of the total population of Tigbauan, which stood at 65,245 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 403 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 432 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay San Rafael is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tigbauan is a municipality comprising 52 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Rafael, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
