Barangay Tan Pael

Barangay Tan Pael is a small barangay in the municipality of Tigbauan, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tan Pael had a population of 1,473. This made it the 17th largest of 52 barangays in Tigbauan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tan Pael accounted for approximately 2.26% of the total population of Tigbauan, which stood at 65,245 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,358 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,473 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +8.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tan Pael as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Tigbauan is a municipality comprising 52 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tan Pael, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Tan Pael ranks 456th by 2020 population. Iloilo is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
