Barangay Tan-awan

Barangay Tan-awan is a small barangay in the municipality of Tubigon, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tan-awan had a population of 681. This made it the 29th largest of 34 barangays in Tubigon by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tan-awan accounted for approximately 1.42% of the total population of Tubigon, which stood at 47,886 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tan-awan moving from 655 residents to 681 residents, an intercensal change of +4.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tan-awan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tubigon is a municipality comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tan-awan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
