Barangay Wayangan

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Wayangan is one of the administrative divisions of Tubo in Abra, CAR, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Wayangan had a population of 478. This made it the 7th largest of 10 barangays in Tubo by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Wayangan accounted for approximately 8.42% of the total population of Tubo, which stood at 5,674 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Wayangan changed from 510 to 478, a shift of -6.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Tubo. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Wayangan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tubo is a municipality comprising 10 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Wayangan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Abra, which contains 303 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Wayangan ranks 214th by 2020 population.
