Barangay Balicua

Situated in Tubungan, Iloilo, Barangay Balicua is one of 48 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balicua had a population of 345. This made it the 30th largest of 48 barangays in Tubungan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balicua accounted for approximately 1.50% of the total population of Tubungan, which stood at 23,021 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balicua moving from 313 residents to 345 residents, an intercensal change of +10.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Balicua as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tubungan is a municipality comprising 48 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balicua, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
