Barangay Tagpu-an

Barangay Tagpu-an is a small barangay in the municipality of Tubungan, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tagpu-an had a population of 848. This made it the 5th largest of 48 barangays in Tubungan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tagpu-an accounted for approximately 3.68% of the total population of Tubungan, which stood at 23,021 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tagpu-an moving from 820 residents to 848 residents, an intercensal change of +3.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tagpu-an as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tubungan is a municipality comprising 48 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tagpu-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
