Barangay Carig

Barangay Carig forms part of Tuguegarao City, a city in Cagayan, and is classified as a large barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Carig had a population of 5,018. This made it the 9th largest of 49 barangays in Tuguegarao City by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Carig accounted for approximately 3.02% of the total population of Tuguegarao City, which stood at 166,334 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,536 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 5,018 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Carig is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Tuguegarao City is a city comprising 49 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Carig, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cagayan, which contains 820 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Carig ranks 15th by 2020 population. Cagayan is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
