Barangay Acmonan

Situated in Tupi, South Cotabato, Barangay Acmonan is one of 15 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Acmonan had a population of 4,482. This made it the 6th largest of 15 barangays in Tupi by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Acmonan accounted for approximately 6.10% of the total population of Tupi, which stood at 73,459 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,613 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,482 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -2.8%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Acmonan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Tupi is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Acmonan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of South Cotabato, which contains 225 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Acmonan ranks 67th by 2020 population. Barangay Acmonan is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
