Barangay Palian

Situated in Tupi, South Cotabato, Barangay Palian is one of 15 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Palian had a population of 3,116. This made it the 12th largest of 15 barangays in Tupi by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Palian accounted for approximately 4.24% of the total population of Tupi, which stood at 73,459 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Palian changed from 2,869 to 3,116, a shift of +8.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Tupi. Barangay Palian is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tupi is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Palian, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
