Situated in Tuy, Batangas, Barangay Dao is one of 22 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Dao had a population of 1,780. This made it the 13th largest of 22 barangays in Tuy by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dao accounted for approximately 3.83% of the total population of Tuy, which stood at 46,519 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Dao moving from 1,601 residents to 1,780 residents, an intercensal change of +11.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dao as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
