Barangay Bugnay

Situated in Valderrama, Antique, Barangay Bugnay is one of 22 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bugnay had a population of 1,036. This made it the 8th largest of 22 barangays in Valderrama by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bugnay accounted for approximately 5.19% of the total population of Valderrama, which stood at 19,971 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bugnay changed from 953 to 1,036, a shift of +8.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Valderrama. Barangay Bugnay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Valderrama is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bugnay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
