Barangay Cansilayan

Situated in Valderrama, Antique, Barangay Cansilayan is one of 22 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cansilayan had a population of 272. This made it the 19th largest of 22 barangays in Valderrama by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cansilayan accounted for approximately 1.36% of the total population of Valderrama, which stood at 19,971 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cansilayan changed from 269 to 272, a shift of +1.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Valderrama. Barangay Cansilayan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Valderrama is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cansilayan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
