Barangay Caigangan

Barangay Caigangan forms part of Veruela, a municipality in Agusan Del Sur, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Caigangan had a population of 1,174. This made it the 12th largest of 20 barangays in Veruela by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Caigangan accounted for approximately 2.96% of the total population of Veruela, which stood at 39,708 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Caigangan moving from 1,029 residents to 1,174 residents, an intercensal change of +14.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Caigangan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
