Barangay Bacag

Barangay Bacag forms part of Villasis, a municipality in Pangasinan, and is classified as a large barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bacag had a population of 6,093. This made it the 2nd largest of 21 barangays in Villasis by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. The barangay recorded 5,914 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 6,093 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Bacag is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Villasis is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bacag, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Barangay Bacag is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
