Barangay Ibung

Barangay Ibung forms part of Villaverde, a municipality in Nueva Vizcaya, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Ibung had a population of 4,416. This made it the 1st largest of 9 barangays in Villaverde by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ibung accounted for approximately 21.95% of the total population of Villaverde, which stood at 20,118 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,334 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,416 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.9%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Ibung as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Villaverde is a municipality comprising 9 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ibung, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Nueva Vizcaya, which contains 275 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Ibung ranks 13th by 2020 population.
