Barangay Balud I

Barangay Balud I is a small barangay in the municipality of Zarraga, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balud I had a population of 998. This made it the 10th largest of 24 barangays in Zarraga by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balud I accounted for approximately 3.66% of the total population of Zarraga, which stood at 27,305 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balud I moving from 981 residents to 998 residents, an intercensal change of +1.7%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Balud I as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
