Barangay Plaridel

Barangay Plaridel is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Aborlan, located in the province of Palawan, in the MIMAROPA Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Plaridel had a population of 3,694. This made it the 2nd largest of 19 barangays in Aborlan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Plaridel accounted for approximately 9.54% of the total population of Aborlan, which stood at 38,736 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Plaridel moving from 3,297 residents to 3,694 residents, an intercensal change of +12.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Plaridel as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Aborlan is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Plaridel, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
