Barangay Wawa

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Wawa is one of the administrative divisions of Abra De Ilog in Occidental Mindoro, MIMAROPA Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Wawa had a population of 3,211. This made it the 5th largest of 10 barangays in Abra De Ilog by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Wawa accounted for approximately 9.13% of the total population of Abra De Ilog, which stood at 35,176 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Wawa changed from 3,096 to 3,211, a shift of +3.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Abra De Ilog. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Wawa as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Abra De Ilog is a municipality comprising 10 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Wawa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
