Barangay Canmarating

Situated in Abuyog, Leyte, Barangay Canmarating is one of 63 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Canmarating had a population of 1,340. This made it the 14th largest of 63 barangays in Abuyog by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Canmarating accounted for approximately 2.19% of the total population of Abuyog, which stood at 61,216 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,445 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,340 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -7.3%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Canmarating is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
