Barangay Dingle

Situated in Abuyog, Leyte, Barangay Dingle is one of 63 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Dingle had a population of 567. This made it the 41st largest of 63 barangays in Abuyog by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dingle accounted for approximately 0.93% of the total population of Abuyog, which stood at 61,216 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 637 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 567 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -11.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Dingle is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Abuyog is a municipality comprising 63 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dingle, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Dingle ranks 1084th by 2020 population.
