Barangay Pagsang-an

Situated in Abuyog, Leyte, Barangay Pagsang-an is one of 63 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pagsang-an had a population of 1,006. This made it the 20th largest of 63 barangays in Abuyog by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pagsang-an accounted for approximately 1.64% of the total population of Abuyog, which stood at 61,216 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pagsang-an moving from 1,003 residents to 1,006 residents, an intercensal change of +0.3%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pagsang-an as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
