Barangay Paguite

Barangay Paguite forms part of Abuyog, a municipality in Leyte, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Paguite had a population of 875. This made it the 23rd largest of 63 barangays in Abuyog by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Paguite accounted for approximately 1.43% of the total population of Abuyog, which stood at 61,216 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Paguite moving from 898 residents to 875 residents, an intercensal change of -2.6%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Paguite is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
