Barangay Parasanon

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Parasanon is one of the administrative divisions of Abuyog in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Parasanon had a population of 533. This made it the 43rd largest of 63 barangays in Abuyog by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Parasanon accounted for approximately 0.87% of the total population of Abuyog, which stood at 61,216 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Parasanon moving from 653 residents to 533 residents, an intercensal change of -18.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Parasanon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
