Barangay Pilar

Situated in Abuyog, Leyte, Barangay Pilar is one of 63 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pilar had a population of 433. This made it the 53rd largest of 63 barangays in Abuyog by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pilar accounted for approximately 0.71% of the total population of Abuyog, which stood at 61,216 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pilar moving from 421 residents to 433 residents, an intercensal change of +2.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pilar as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Abuyog is a municipality comprising 63 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pilar, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
