Barangay Salvacion

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Salvacion is one of the administrative divisions of Abuyog in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Salvacion had a population of 656. This made it the 35th largest of 63 barangays in Abuyog by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salvacion accounted for approximately 1.07% of the total population of Abuyog, which stood at 61,216 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Salvacion moving from 644 residents to 656 residents, an intercensal change of +1.9%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Salvacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Abuyog is a municipality comprising 63 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salvacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
