Situated in Alabat, Quezon, Barangay Buenavista is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Buenavista had a population of 539. This made it the 14th largest of 19 barangays in Alabat by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buenavista accounted for approximately 3.38% of the total population of Alabat, which stood at 15,936 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 538 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 539 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.2%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Buenavista is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
