Barangay Ulay-Bugang

Situated in Alimodian, Iloilo, Barangay Ulay-Bugang is one of 51 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Ulay-Bugang had a population of 528. This made it the 28th largest of 51 barangays in Alimodian by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ulay-Bugang accounted for approximately 1.33% of the total population of Alimodian, which stood at 39,722 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 427 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 528 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +23.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Ulay-Bugang as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Alimodian is a municipality comprising 51 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ulay-Bugang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
