Barangay Lumaynay

Barangay Lumaynay is a small barangay in the municipality of Altavas, located in the province of Aklan, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lumaynay had a population of 1,154. This made it the 11th largest of 14 barangays in Altavas by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lumaynay accounted for approximately 4.50% of the total population of Altavas, which stood at 25,639 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Lumaynay moving from 1,593 residents to 1,154 residents, an intercensal change of -27.6%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Lumaynay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
