Barangay Babayuan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Babayuan is one of the administrative divisions of Amulung in Cagayan, Cagayan Valley, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Babayuan had a population of 733. This made it the 30th largest of 47 barangays in Amulung by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Babayuan accounted for approximately 1.46% of the total population of Amulung, which stood at 50,336 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 641 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 733 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +14.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Babayuan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Amulung is a municipality comprising 47 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Babayuan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cagayan, which contains 820 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Babayuan ranks 648th by 2020 population.
