Situated in Amulung, Cagayan, Barangay Bacring is one of 47 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

This made it the 32nd largest of 47 barangays in Amulung by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. The barangay recorded 613 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 707 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +15.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Bacring is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
