Barangay Cag-an

Situated in Anilao, Iloilo, Barangay Cag-an is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cag-an had a population of 1,807. This made it the 6th largest of 21 barangays in Anilao by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cag-an accounted for approximately 5.92% of the total population of Anilao, which stood at 30,520 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,666 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,807 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +8.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Cag-an is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Anilao is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cag-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cag-an ranks 325th by 2020 population.
