Barangay Basca

Situated in Aringay, La Union, Barangay Basca is one of 24 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Basca had a population of 2,000. This made it the 10th largest of 24 barangays in Aringay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Basca accounted for approximately 3.97% of the total population of Aringay, which stood at 50,380 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Basca moving from 2,137 residents to 2,000 residents, an intercensal change of -6.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community.
