Barangay Pangao-aoan East

Barangay Pangao-aoan East is a small barangay in the municipality of Aringay, located in the province of La Union, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pangao-aoan East had a population of 1,320. This made it the 17th largest of 24 barangays in Aringay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pangao-aoan East accounted for approximately 2.62% of the total population of Aringay, which stood at 50,380 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Pangao-aoan East changed from 1,182 to 1,320, a shift of +11.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Aringay. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pangao-aoan East as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Aringay is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pangao-aoan East, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
