This made it the 21st largest of 24 barangays in Aringay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Simon East accounted for approximately 2.24% of the total population of Aringay, which stood at 50,380 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,077 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,131 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +5.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Simon East as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
