Barangay Banganan

Barangay Banganan forms part of Aritao, a municipality in Nueva Vizcaya, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

This made it the 4th largest of 22 barangays in Aritao by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Banganan changed from 2,788 to 3,419, a shift of +22.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Aritao. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Banganan as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Aritao is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Banganan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Nueva Vizcaya, which contains 275 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Banganan ranks 32nd by 2020 population. Nueva Vizcaya is classified as a 2nd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Banganan is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
