Barangay Baye

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Baye is one of the administrative divisions of Asturias in Cebu, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Baye had a population of 733. This made it the 24th largest of 27 barangays in Asturias by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Baye accounted for approximately 1.32% of the total population of Asturias, which stood at 55,397 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 621 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 733 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +18.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Baye is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Asturias is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Baye, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Baye ranks 966th by 2020 population.
