Barangay Biasong

Situated in Babatngon, Leyte, Barangay Biasong is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Biasong had a population of 316. This made it the 25th largest of 25 barangays in Babatngon by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Biasong accounted for approximately 1.10% of the total population of Babatngon, which stood at 28,823 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Biasong moving from 447 residents to 316 residents, an intercensal change of -29.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Biasong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Babatngon is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Biasong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
