Barangay Malibago

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Malibago is one of the administrative divisions of Babatngon in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malibago had a population of 848. This made it the 15th largest of 25 barangays in Babatngon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malibago accounted for approximately 2.94% of the total population of Babatngon, which stood at 28,823 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Malibago moving from 1,045 residents to 848 residents, an intercensal change of -18.9%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Malibago is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Babatngon is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malibago, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
