Barangay Guintigui-an

Situated in Babatngon, Leyte, Barangay Guintigui-an is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Guintigui-an had a population of 776. This made it the 16th largest of 25 barangays in Babatngon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guintigui-an accounted for approximately 2.69% of the total population of Babatngon, which stood at 28,823 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Guintigui-an changed from 639 to 776, a shift of +21.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Babatngon. Barangay Guintigui-an is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Babatngon is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Guintigui-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Guintigui-an ranks 823rd by 2020 population.
