Barangay Barsat East

Barangay Barsat East is a small barangay in the municipality of Baggao, located in the province of Cagayan, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Barsat East had a population of 1,375. This made it the 25th largest of 48 barangays in Baggao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Barsat East accounted for approximately 1.57% of the total population of Baggao, which stood at 87,753 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Barsat East changed from 1,258 to 1,375, a shift of +9.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Baggao. Barangay Barsat East is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Baggao is a municipality comprising 48 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Barsat East, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
