Barangay Poblacion III

Barangay Poblacion III is a very small barangay in the municipality of Balabac, located in the province of Palawan, in the MIMAROPA Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion III had a population of 413. This made it the 19th largest of 20 barangays in Balabac by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion III accounted for approximately 0.97% of the total population of Balabac, which stood at 42,527 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion III changed from 460 to 413, a shift of -10.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Balabac. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion III as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balabac is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion III, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
