Barangay Cansumangcay

Situated in Balangiga, Eastern Samar, Barangay Cansumangcay is one of 13 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cansumangcay had a population of 990. This made it the 7th largest of 13 barangays in Balangiga by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cansumangcay accounted for approximately 6.90% of the total population of Balangiga, which stood at 14,341 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cansumangcay changed from 984 to 990, a shift of +0.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Balangiga.
