Barangay Maybunga

Barangay Maybunga is a very small barangay in the municipality of Balangiga, located in the province of Eastern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Maybunga had a population of 173. This made it the 13th largest of 13 barangays in Balangiga by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maybunga accounted for approximately 1.21% of the total population of Balangiga, which stood at 14,341 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Maybunga moving from 175 residents to 173 residents, an intercensal change of -1.1%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. Barangay Maybunga is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
