Barangay Nagsabaran Norte

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Nagsabaran Norte is one of the administrative divisions of Balaoan in La Union, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Nagsabaran Norte had a population of 1,536. This made it the 6th largest of 36 barangays in Balaoan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Nagsabaran Norte accounted for approximately 3.81% of the total population of Balaoan, which stood at 40,339 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,546 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,536 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -0.6%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Nagsabaran Norte as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balaoan is a municipality comprising 36 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Nagsabaran Norte, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
