Barangay Napaset

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Napaset is one of the administrative divisions of Balaoan in La Union, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Napaset had a population of 645. This made it the 33rd largest of 36 barangays in Balaoan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Napaset accounted for approximately 1.60% of the total population of Balaoan, which stood at 40,339 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 578 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 645 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +11.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Napaset is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balaoan is a municipality comprising 36 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Napaset, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of La Union, which contains 576 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Napaset ranks 486th by 2020 population. La Union is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
