Barangay Fulgencio

Situated in Balete, Aklan, Barangay Fulgencio is one of 10 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Fulgencio had a population of 3,624. This made it the 3rd largest of 10 barangays in Balete by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Fulgencio accounted for approximately 12.04% of the total population of Balete, which stood at 30,090 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Fulgencio changed from 3,568 to 3,624, a shift of +1.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Balete. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Fulgencio as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balete is a municipality comprising 10 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Fulgencio, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Aklan, which contains 327 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Fulgencio ranks 26th by 2020 population.
