Barangay San Marcelino

Situated in Balungao, Pangasinan, Barangay San Marcelino is one of 20 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Marcelino had a population of 1,544. This made it the 9th largest of 20 barangays in Balungao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Marcelino accounted for approximately 5.15% of the total population of Balungao, which stood at 30,004 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,511 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,544 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay San Marcelino is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
