Barangay Punong Grande

Situated in Banga, South Cotabato, Barangay Punong Grande is one of 22 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Punong Grande had a population of 3,687. This made it the 13th largest of 22 barangays in Banga by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Punong Grande accounted for approximately 4.14% of the total population of Banga, which stood at 89,164 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,508 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,687 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +5.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Punong Grande is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
